AUGUST FUN FOR KIDS
August 2 - 13

Week 1 ~ August 2 - 6: Ages 8 - 12
Sign up for one class, or both! Students enrolled in both classes may stay for the supervised lunch session from 11:30-noon. Additional $10 per child for the week.

9:00-11:30 am
Hodgepodge Art - $65 per student

Creativity abounds in this fun mixed-media class. Students will try their hand at a different art project each morning, and explore a variety of art techniques from painting to collage.Oxford artist Jessica Rice instructs. All materials included.

12:00 –2:30 pm
Movie Magic - $65 per student

Introduction into the complete workings of making a film. Every child will play a role as director, producer, actor, writer, editor, and camera person. By the end of the program the goal is not only to make a short film, but also to experience what it would be like to make magic! Instructed by Bruce Grove and Jason Williams. Bruce is an actor/director who has been in over 30 plays and produced over 10 movies. Jason has been making movies for well over a decade and brings state-of-the-art camera and editing expertise. Each student received a copy of the final film, to be shown at OCC during the Chesapeake Film Festival weekend in September 

Week 2 ~ August 9 - 13: Ages 4 - 7
9:30-11:00 am
“Books, Bugs, & Bogs” - $45 per child

This fun and engaging hands-on program returns to OCC for 5 sessions and introduces children to wetlands through dress-up, crafts, felt boards and books. Topics to be covered: What is a Wetland, Beaver, Insects, Turtle, and Ducks. Each session includes story time, snack, and a fun take-home craft. Presented in partnership with the educators of Environmental Concern, Inc. (EC is a 501 (C)3 non profit organization headquartered in St. Michaels, and dedicated to working with all aspects of wetlands.)

"LEADING LADIES”
Opens Friday August 13

The Tred Avon Players present another backstage farce by America’s master of laugh-a-second comedy Ken Ludwig.  A potent mixture of Charly’s Aunt and The Importance of Being Earnest with lots of romantic nonsense and hilarious identity switching that is guaranteed to have you weeping with laughter. If you loved Moon Over Buffalo (and who didn’t?), you’ll die for Leading Ladies. Directed by Pat Murphy Sheehy. Friday & Saturday August 13, 14, 20, 21, 27 & 28 at 8 pm; Sunday August 15, 22 & 29 at 2 pm; Thursday August 26 at 7 pm. Visit TAP online for more information.

FARMER'S MARKET
Wednesdays: May - October

“Fresh, local, and homemade!” The Oxford Farmers Market returns to the grounds of the Oxford Community Center for the season-opener Wednesday May 5, 4-6 pm. Shop for fresh local produce, artisan works, and enjoy the sounds of local favorites “Free and Easy Band”. The market is held weekly on Wednesdays from May to mid-October, with “big market” days the first Wednesday of each month featuring music and special guests.
