Brian Wells - President

Brian Wells has worked in the healthcare information technology industry for 42 years. Currently, he’s serving as Chief Technology Officer and Chief Information Security Officer. He and his wife Julie have lived in Oxford since 2008 and enjoy boating, local history, and volunteering in this wonderful community.

Molly Sause - Vice President

Molly Sause is a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chief Financial Officer of AFG Wealth in Easton. Molly earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. She then taught middle school math for over 21 years as a National Board Certified Teacher in Chicago Public Schools and Maryland. She also served as an AVID Coordinator in Anne Arundel County to enhance student outcomes and close the opportunity gap for future first generation college students. Molly and her husband, Brett, live in Oxford and love the opportunities for friendship and connection our community provides. They have one daughter, Emily.

Pam Baker - Treasurer

Pamela K. Baker has been an active Oxford resident for 22 years, volunteering with various groups. She worked 10 years at Cooperative Oxford Lab, 22 years with Oxford Library as Secretary and Treasurer, 21 years with Oxford Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary, and 14 years with Oxford Day. She has also been involved with the Oxford Business Association and served in various position for the Town of Oxford. Before Oxford, Pamela was Vice-President, R&D Facilities for a major agricultural products company in New Jersey, overseeing engineering, maintenance, and compliance operations.

Val Cavalheri - Secretary

Val Cavalheri is a writer and photographer, born in Brazil, although she’s lived in the States most of her life. As a writer, she has served as editor of several magazines and written for numerous publications, most notably, The Washington Post. Val retired her photography studio when she moved from Northern Virginia to the Eastern Shore a few years ago. Currently, Val is the Arts and Culture Editor for Spy Community Media. She and her husband, Wayne Gaiteri, have two children and one grandchild.

Margaret Andersen- Board Member

Maggie is a retired named professor of sociology from the University of Delaware where she also served as Dean of Arts and Sciences, Vice Provost, and as the founder of the President’s Diversity Initiative. She has published several books, particularly about race and gender inequality, but also including her book On Land and On Sea: A Century of Women in the Rosenfeld Collection—a “coffee table” book based on photographs from the noted Rosenfeld Collection of maritime photography at Mystic Seaport Museum. Her husband’s (Richard Rosenfeld) family boat (“Foto”), from which the well-known Rosenfeld photographs were taken, is housed in Oxford at Cutts and Case Museum. Since retiring, Maggie has continued to write and publish while she also coaches junior faculty to help them succeed in higher education. She came to Oxford in 2003 as a sailor, and now makes Oxford her permanent home.

Paula Bell

Paula Bell - Board Member

Paula Bell grew up in New York City and taught school, primarily fifth grade, for over twenty years. After retiring n 2004, she resumed working as a ceramic artist. Paula volunteers and supports several local non-profit organizations, including the Oxford Museum, John Wesley Preservation Society, the Oxford Garden Club, the Oxford Ladies Breakfast, and Temple B'nai Israel.

Tracy Cronlund

Tracy Cronlund - Board Member

Tracy Cronlund brings a strong background in sales, marketing, and team leadership, currently heading the Enterprise Sales team at Cresta, an AI technology company. She’s held senior roles at Curbio, Sprinklr, and CB Insights, always focused on growth strategy and partnership building. Tracy serves on the Development Committee for the Talbot Hospice Board and is excited to be part of the Oxford community. She and her husband live in town with their two dogs, George and Wilbur. She enjoys boating, tennis, and spending time outdoors with family and friends.

Brad Deutch - Board Member

Brad Deutsch is an attorney who specializes in Communications and Political Law, representing broadcasters, political candidates, and advocacy organizations. He and his wife Hilary, both originally from Manhattan, have lived in the D.C. area since 1994. They purchased their Oxford home in 2017 (from Brian and Julie!) and plan to move full-time later this year. Brad has worked on federal election law and broadcasting policy and is looking forward to being more engaged in the Oxford community. He enjoys boating, music, and spending time on the water with family and friends.

Jonathan Goldweitz - Board Member

Jonathan C. Goldweitz earned his MD at Johns Hopkins and trained at NYU’s Bellevue Hospital, where he became Assistant Director of Emergency Services. He later founded a primary care practice in Stamford, Connecticut, and served on numerous hospital and medical boards. In 2009, he and his wife Dorothy sailed their wooden yawl from Nova Scotia to Oxford, now their full-time home. He’s volunteered with Oxford Day, the Tred Avon Yacht Club, and Temple B’nai Israel. He’s also a member of the Cruising Club of America and the Ocean Cruising Club.

Brud LaMotte

Brud LaMotte - Board Member

Byron 'Brud' LaMotte was born in Wilmington, DE, and came to live in Oxford in 1974. He graduated from Boston University and spent 40 years in the Real Estate industry, including owning LaMotte Properties in Easton, MD, from where he retired in 2015. Brud is a classic car enthusiast who enjoys boating, the Talbot Investment Group, and traveling in his spare time.

Christine Maynard - Board Member

Chris Maynard holds a PhD in Neurosciences from the University of Texas and an MD from George Washington University. She practiced as an OB-GYN for 35 years with All About Women and Christiana Care Hospital in Delaware. Chris and her husband Robert (Mac) Sommerlatte bought a house on the Strand in 2010 and became full-time Oxford residents in 2024. In retirement, Chris enjoys painting in pastels and acrylics, reading, gardening, and long walks. She looks forward to becoming more involved in the Oxford community and its many volunteer opportunities.

Art Murr - Board Member

Art Murr retired from Citigroup after 33 years in computer technology and moved to Oxford in 2018 from Garden City, NY. He has a BS in Computer Technology and an MBA in Banking and Financial Institutions. He enjoys Oxford, as it reminds him of Long Island, where he grew up, and Sag Harbor, NY, where he spent summers. Art enjoys biking, kayaking, snow skiing, travel, theatre, music, museums, cooking, and spending time with his wife Denise and son Matthew.

Stuart Parnes (2)

Stuart Parnes - Board Member

Stuart Parnes graduated from Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT, with an Art History degree and spent most of his career as the Director of Exhibitions & Interpretation at the Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic, CT. He was also the Executive Director of Connecticut Humanities, President of the Chesapeake Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, MD, and Executive Director of the Connecticut River Museum in Essex, CT. From 2017-2020, Stuart served as President of the Oxford Museum. He and his wife, Sue Ellen Thompson, moved to Oxford in 2006.

Lee Phillips

Lee Phillips - Board Member

Lee Phillips has been a full-time resident of Oxford since 1998. He retired from the private engineering practice as Chairman of the Board of Walter L. Phillips, Inc. The firm, headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia, specializes in land planning, feasibility studies, and land surveying.

Walda Roseman - Board Member

Walda Roseman retired from a career in international communications technology policy, regulation, and economic and social development. She served in executive roles in government and non-profit organizations and led a strategic consulting firm that advised aerospace, Internet, government, media, and other organizations. She also devoted her energies to advancing roles of women in ICT and empowering young people to embrace technology and creativity as tools for positive economic change. She has been active in non-profit boards and currently chairs the Arthur C. Clarke Foundation.

Connie Vaught - Board Member

Connie Vaught, a native of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, was a nurse in the U.S. Navy, later taught nursing at the collegiate level, and became a nurse practitioner. She and her husband, Dave Poe, have had a home in Oxford since 2012 and have been full-time residents since 2020. Presently, she is Vice President of the Oxford Library and a member of the Fire Company Auxiliary. Although Connie enjoys reading, walking, and traveling the world, her favorite role is that of a devoted grandmother to four grandchildren.

Karen Walbridge - Board Member

Karen Walbridge is originally from Connecticut and moved to Pennsylvania with her husband in 1972, where she worked as a College Advisor for twenty-five years. The Eastern Shore has always been an attraction to Karen, first as a place to keep a boat and then when they bought their home in 2004.

Julie Wells

Julie Wells - Board Member

Julie Wells, mother of three sons and two grandchildren, formerly from PA, discovered Oxford in 2008 and restored an 1880 Watermen’s cottage, winning the This Old House Best Exterior Makeover award in 2011. She began volunteering in 2009 joining the Oxford Day committee and the Oxford Fire Co. Auxiliary serving for 15 years. She moved to Oxford full-time in 2017 and served on the Historic Commission, Oxford Business Assn., and joined the Oxford Museum Board in 2018 becoming the President in 2020, then Executive Director, 2021. She co-authored a “Oxford: Images of America” in 2023. She has written two children’s books and manages her son’s art business. She and her husband Brian have restored three homes in Oxford.

Liza Ledford

Liza Ledford - Executive Director

After spending her early career in Hollywood serving as a film producer and studio executive, Liza moved to New Jersey in 2002 to raise her young family. She spent eight years producing international events and television packages for the pharmaceutical industry before returning home, to Easton, MD in 2011 to be closer to family. She started her own company, Northstar Consulting Services, LLC under which she supported many area non-profits in their marketing and event promotions. She planted her roots as Executive Director of the Oxford Community Center in 2017.
