Mary Ellen Mabe

I  am constantly learning and growing as an artist. Sometimes, this presents challenges that are difficult! When I feel frustrated, I look to a quote by the legendary artist and  teacher of the Art League of New York , Robert Henri, who said, “The picture that looks as if it were done without an effort may have been a perfect battlefield in it’s making”.

  This is Mary Ellen’s seventh time juried into The Oxford Fine Arts Show. As well as Oxford, Mary Ellen has been a juried participant in Local Color sponsored by the Working Artists Forum in conjunction with Plein Air Easton for ten years. She received the Judges Award of Excellence in 2015.2018,and 2024

   She has been a member of the Working Artists Forum since 2015 and is a  member of the St. Michaels Art League. She has participated in workshops with national and local artists here and abroad and was a second place winner at Mountain Maryland’s Community Plein Air event in Western Maryland .
