Carole Böggemann-Peirson

Dutch artist Carole Böggemann Peirson is mostly known for her East Coast landscapes in oil. A few life-changing events in 2020 caused a shift in her work from very figurative to more abstracted. Her ethereal works in oil & cold wax are inspired by the idea that all living things are connected and that we are spiritual beings having a temporary physical experience. She enjoys creating harmonious paintings on cradled boards that invite the viewer to explore the intricate layers of colors and textures. The process of applying layers of oil paint and wax and then uncovering previous layers results in an interesting balance between surprising effects and deliberate design. The paintings are meant to evoke the emotion of nature and light, rather than to convey a specific place. Carole hopes her love for nature, life and her optimism about the future will shine through in her work.
