Dear Friends of the OCC,
The sun is shining and we are excited about the upcoming activities at the OCC. The big ticket item to kick off the Season of Jazz on the Stage @ OCC is Stella Cole! Stella performs “It’s Magic“, showcasing her vocal talents that surprise and delight. Prior to that April 3rd date to remember, join us this Friday, March 13th for an incredible St. Patrick’s Day night of traditional Irish festivities. The Paddy-O Band returns to the stage, armed with sing-along songs – setting the tone for comradery and fun while the kitchen bursts with Irish soda bread, corn beef, cabbage, carrots and potatoes.
After that, come back for two educational talks. Weds the 18th is about Fraud Protection Awareness presented by our financial friends at Burke & Herbert Bank. Then the 26th is an amazing dive into the book Dead-Line! “A spellbinding tale of a TV newscaster who inadvertently slides into the lethal intersection of organized crime, political corruption, big law and media manipulation” The local author, David Henry Breimhurst, is an Emmy winning investigative reporter and former news anchor. And – in between the two talks – escape with a wind-down “wine” down Paint Night on Thursday, March 19th. A perfect cabin fever get out of the house evening to relax with friends and neighbors. The painting is entitled “Sunset at the Dock” and is beautiful. Light nibbles and refreshments are provided.
We also have the Classic Cinema Club movie Tomorrow – March 11th from 3:00 – 6:00 PM screening “Bringing up Baby” – the 1938 favorite starring Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant. Popcorn is provided, as well as refreshments.
