Naomi Clark-Turner
Naomi lives in St Michaels, MD with her husband, near the brackish shores of the River Miles. This environment and the surrounding small towns provide a lot of inspiration for her artwork. Her paintings are colorful and often focus on how light plays on objects or views of places that don’t typically get noticed..
Born and brought up in the south-east of England, with parents who were both artists, Naomi has been painting and drawing her entire life. Her love of science led her to a career in the healthcare industry and a move to the US in 2002.
Naomi and her family first settled in Chadds Ford, PA, where she studied with the artist Karl J. Kuerner III and began showing and selling her artwork. Originally working in watercolor, she now works in a range of different mediums including oils, pastels, acrylic and gouache, and specializes in drawing with graphite.
She is currently President of the Working Artists Forum in Easton, a member of the St Michaels Art League and teaches classes for beginners on drawing, line & wash and watercolor at the Academy Art Museum in Easton, MD.
Last year Naomi won the award for “Best Representation of Village Life” at the Oxford Fine Arts Show, from the Oxford Business Association, and in 2023 she won the award for “Best Representation of St Michaels” in the St Michaels Art League Banner Show. Her drawings have been included for the last 3 years in the Christmas in St Michaels House Tour brochure and one of her oil paintings,”The Old Red Tractor”, was on display for two months this year, at the AcademyArt Museum, as part of the Instructors Show.
