An Evening with Dave Wheelan, Publisher and Executive Director of the Spy
The Oxford Community Center is pleased to announce an insightful
talk by Dave Wheelan, Publisher and Executive Editor of the Spy newspapers, on January 18 at
5:30 PM.
About the Talk: Dave Wheelan will delve into the fascinating world of the Spy experiment on
the Mid-Shore over the last 14 years. He will discuss the vital role of extremely local news and
arts coverage and its impact on community development and awareness.
About Dave Wheelan: Dave Wheelan, a native of Winnetka, IL, brings over thirty years of
experience in communications, institutional development, and strategic planning. Throughout his
career, he has collaborated with esteemed organizations such as the Robert F. Kennedy
Memorial Foundation, Washington College, The Nature Conservancy, Trust for Public Land,
and the University of California, Berkeley.
In 2009, Wheelan founded the Spy, a pioneering initiative that currently supports four e-
newspapers on the Eastern Shore. As Publisher and Executive Editor, Wheelan has been a
driving force in providing communities with insightful and relevant news coverage.
