Thomas Burden

Thomas Burden

Tom spent a lifetime working in visual arts, building one of the largest creative companies in America, Trahan, Burden & Charles Advertising. He was a winner of every major award in the advertising industry and was voted by the Advertising Association of America as one of North America’s Top Creative People.

Tom traveled a different path than most artists, growing up on the shores, mountains, fields and cities of Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay. He was constantly exploring the beauty of the nature that changed in every season – the wild horses of our Eastern Shore, the incredible migration of birds and waterfowl, and abundant wildlife in these regions. As a young man Tom loved creating art and capturing these pictorial gifts, rendering the excitement of all that the Chesapeake Bay Region offers visually and emotionally.

Tom’s paintings capture his love of nature’s amazing wildlife. He wants people to experience and embrace these beautiful wild creatures and realize the importance of preserving them in the world we share together.

Tom is a graduate of The Maryland Institute College of Art. He was honored with awards for helping promote the preservation of the Chesapeake Bay by creating artwork for The Chesapeake Bay Foundation, The Chesapeake Bay Trust, The Maryland Department of Natural Resources, The National Wildlife Foundation and The National Aquarium in Baltimore.
