Kate work in many different mediums, but a common thread between all of them is challenging perceptions and provoking curiosity- inviting viewers to contemplate the interplay between reality and imagination. She tries to capture the essence of realism while infusing each piece with a touch of unexpected delight.

Kate works in traditional drawing and painting techniques on paper, and she also goes back in to some pieces in a digital format. She is fascinated with the injection of elements of surprise into familiar scenes, inviting viewers to explore beyond initial impressions. Kate finds inspiration from children’s book illustration, scientific and botanical illustrations, and collage.
