Tamara Hutchinson

Most of my childhood was spent outdoors in the mountains of the great northwest. This gave me a great appreciation for the beauty and majesty of nature. My mother was an artist who always had a sketch pad in her hands. As a young adult I joined my mother in art classes in NYC where I was exposed to a variety of painting techniques. I continued my studies at the Ridgewood Art Institute in New Jersey and at PAFA along with extensive lessons from a variety of accomplished artists in the Mid Atlantic Region.

Painting en plein air has provided me with a strong understanding of light, color and atmosphere and how these effect our mood and emotions. Every painting that I do brings me joy, the challenge of creating an image with paint that will delight the eyes is one that I never grow tired of.

My works can be seen at the Station Gallery in Greenville, DE, Painters Folly in Chadds Ford, PA, Fig Tree Art Gallery, located in the tropical isle of Antigua.

My studio is located in North Wilmington, Delaware where I paint landscape’s, still life’s, portraits and commission works.
